    Haapsalu castle
    The castle museum introduces the older history of Haapsalu and the living environment of the medieval castle in both ordinary and action-play form. The dim atmosphere of the castle rooms helps to create an immersive experience of the medieval world through objects and interactive exhibits. The 700-meter journey on the two floors of the castle is an exciting journey of discovery in a unique medieval architectural environment for visitors of all ages.

    Haapsalu Old Town Hall
    The Lääne County Museum was established in 1929 as a private initiative to collect and introduce the cultural heritage of Lääne County. The town hall became a museum in 1950. Today, the permanent exhibition of the town hall introduces the life of Haapsalu from the end of the 19th century until 1940 through the eyes of a holidaymaker. In the second wing of the house, different themed exhibitions change.

    In Ilon’s Wonderland, visitors can take part in the world of magnificent drawings created by Ilon Wikland. In addition to admiring the original images, Wikland’s inspiring biography and work can also be explored through books, films, crafts and games. Ilon’s Wonderland is located in an idyllic small town in Haapsalu, where Ilon Wikland lived with her grandmother and grandfather as a child.

    The railway terminus with its intriguingly grand station building, constructed in the early 20th century to service the bustling resort town of Haapsalu, invites you to take a virtual journey back in time, accompanied by steam engine noises, to learn about the evolution of railways in Estonia spanning almost a century and a half. Here you can also see different methods of communicating information, from early telegraph and telephone devices to the wireless communications and television.

    Ants Laikmaa museum
    Ants Laikmaa was one of the most colorful personalities in Estonian art history, known as a portraitist and landscape painter, whose past technique was pastel. In Kadarpiku village, on the lands of Tammiku farm, the artist started to build his home in 1917, which ended in 1932 with the closure of the studio school in Tallinn and moving to Taebla. The Ants Laikmaa House Museum, opened in 1960, houses the artist’s studio, work and living quarters.
